NEWSOld Citizens Golfing Society's Halford Hewitt Competition Results 1936 - 2022

The Halford Hewitt competition started in 1924 with a few schools. Old Citizens golfers joined in 1936 for the first time, and have entered ever since, except for 1954 to 1957.

Sixty-four public school old boys teams compete each year, with five pairs in each team.

Only five sides have won the competition six or more times accounting for over 42% of the winners, Charterhouse winning seventeen times (to 2022). Whitgift and King’s Canterbury have been drawn against us four times, but there are about seventeen teams we have never played. We have played 81 matches (to 2022).
