Old Citizens' Golfing Society Challenges the CLS boys

I am pleased to report that the Society entertained four up and coming golfers from the School at Old Fold Manor Golf Club on the 17th June 2009. This fixture is an enjoyable afternoons golf after the exams have finished in which the OCs challenge the boys for the Dr Law-Robertson Cup.
Golf v the School 2009
The OC team was represented by Mark Stockton our Society Captain, Clive Lewis (one round of golf in the past 12 months!) Alex Tapp and Mark Bretton (member and Vice Captain of Old Fold Manor). Mark Bretton also made the bookings as well as taking time out to play for the OCs. As there were 4 boys representing the school (Adam Jones, Keiran Bagdai, Luke Strauss, and Ben Nachoon) it was decided to drop my score from the aggregate to make matters fairer! Matt Kerr, School sports master brought along three colleagues (Matt Close, Neil Cornwell and Andrew McBroom) to make this a three way contest.

Sandwiches and plenty of chips followed the golf. During this time the scores were added and I am pleased to report that the OCs triumphed this year, retaining the Cup which we won back from the boys last year. This fact is immaterial as the real aim of the afternoon is to introduce the boys to OC golf in the hope that they will join the Society once they have left the School and completed their education. We look forward to next years match!
