OCCC v The School - 1st July 2009

We batted first in a 40 over game and struggled to 135 all out thanks to 51 from Hasan Ramzan and 35 from Suhail Shaikh. In response the school were comfortably placed at 69-2 before collapsing to 83-7 as Hasan and Yusuf Ramzan ripped through the middle order. An 8th wicket partnership of 27 kept the school's hopes alive, but 2 more wickets fell leaving them needing 17 to win with 1 wicket remaining. We decided to be charitable and let them knock the runs off (!), which they did with 1 ball remaining in a thrilling match! Yusuf and Hasan were the most successful bowlers with 4-19 and 3-22 respectively while for the school opener and skipper B Velani top scored with 32 and Will Sheldon scored 23.
