Old Citizen (2016 leaver), Peter Hodgson-Jones’ Help for Heroes fundraising trek

16 May 2018
This September, Old Citizen Peter Hodgson-Jones flies out to Tanzania for a seven-day trek to the top of Africa's highest point - Mount Kilimanjaro. His aim is to raise £2,500 for Help for Heroes, the charity that helps servicemen and veterans adjust to civilian life by supplying emotional and physical support to them and their families.

Peter left CLS in 2016 to embark on a degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of York. ‘I pursued this for only one year as I found that engineering was not my passion. Ever since attending the Combined Cadet Force Camps during my time at School I wanted to join the military and participate in various outdoor activities. Hence my reason for choosing to support Help for Heroes.

‘In February I signed up with Action Challenge that has led countless expeditions to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. I am flying out on 6th September and returning to the UK on the 16th, four days before my 21st birthday, spending seven of the intermediate days on the mountain.’
