The JCC Annual Dinner

As the New Year begins, the final arrangements are being made for this year's JCC Annual Dinner on 14 February 2012. There are still places available, so book your places as soon as possible! This year's event takes place in the School's anniversary year and, as such, is being held in the Great Hall of the current school. We have a fantastic speaker lined up - Lord Janvrin, former Private Secretary to Her Majesty the Queen.

Events, events, events

Recharged from my one week cycling holiday in North Tuscany over Easter, I have been working at full throttle ever since as a number of events loom on the horizon - namely, the 2004-8 leavers' reunion on 26 May, the CLS Sixth Form leavers' breakfast the next day (which I don't organise but do attend, along with Tim Levene who gives a rallying cry to the boys about the JCC), and the champagne and sushi reception on 9 June for Old Cits who started CLS between 1982 and 1986.

Having taken on the additional responsibility of being Deputy Editor of the School's weekly newspaper, The Citizen, a few weeks ago, I am at last beginning to feel part of the School rather than being in limbo-land some where between current and former pupils.

Fencing - Old Cits v CLS Boys

I've had a mixed bag of alumni requests over the past few weeks including one from an recent Old Cit's father looking for a JCC contact in India where his son is teaching cello at a music school near Calcutta, and assistance with a 1973 leavers' gathering being organised by another Old Cit.
