21 June 2008 - OCCC @ Bourne End - Lost by 145 runs

We were slaughtered by Bourne End, as they got revenge for our thrilling last over win over them earlier this season. Bourne End’s strong batting line up started well, but our bowlers persevered and got rewards, as they collapsed from 149-4 to 154-8. Junky was then inexplicably taken off after a double wicket maiden, and the last couple of batsmen played some fine shots to boost the total to 211-9 after 40 overs. Nadir Gohar was the star bowler claiming 3-29 off 5 overs, and was well supported by Junky with 2-8 off 4 overs and Alex with 2-29 from 8 overs. There was also some good fielding, with Richard Millett confounding his pessimistic teammates by taking a fine catch on the deep square leg boundary 1 metre from the rope, and safe hands Suhail Shaikh also taking a good catch at long on. Our batting display was very disappointing as we crumbled to 66 all out, Richard Hillman top scoring with 14 and Nadir bravely surviving amidst the collapse before being 8th out for 9!

Bourne End 211-9, 40 overs (Gohar 3-29 (5 overs), Shannon 2-8 (4 overs), Bennett 2-29 (8 overs), Ramzan 1-33, Millett 1-42)

OCCC 66 all out (Hillman 14, Gohar 9, Gleadow 8*)
